Carole King – the Musical, a brand new tour of the Olivier, Tony and Grammy Award-winning show, co-produced by Mayflower Theatre, comes to Southampton from April 12 – 16.
Long before she was Carole King, the chart-topping music legend, she was an ordinary girl with an extraordinary talent – Beautiful tells the inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit song-writing team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history.
The hit show, which ran in the West End for two and a half years before two successful UK tours, will feature a talented cast of actor-musicians performing countless classics including You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman, Take Good Care of my Baby, You’ve Got a Friend, Up on the Roof, Locomotion, You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling and exploring the inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom.
Speaking about working with Curve in Leicester and Theatre Royal Bath Productions, Michael Ockwell, Mayflower Theatre Chief Executive says: “I am delighted to be able to work with Curve and Bath Theatre Royal to bring this exciting new production to Southampton and on tour.
