Southampton Woodcraft Folk has a group for young people aged six to nine (plus siblings) which normally meets one Saturday a month at the Hawthorns Centre on Southampton Common. The group began in October 2019 and is small but growing, and warmly welcomes new members. The meetings at the Hawthorns have been suspended during the coronavirus lockdown, but the group is continuing its programme online and will be making use of the Dream Big At Home resources, thanks to its national organization and Hackney Woodcraft Folk, bringing its expertise and ethos to a wider group of children and young people through this programme.
www.dreambigathome.uk went live earlier this month, providing activity ideas and games for all ages to do individually or with your household. It also has session plans and advice for youth leaders, teachers and others running online activities for groups of young people.
There is a regular programme of live workshops, storytelling and virtual campfires so children and young people can connect with each other online – continuing a sense of community and connection while physically apart. Check out the weekly timetable https://dreambigathome.uk/live/
