Preview: Hidden, Theatre Royal Winchester

Fans of gravity-defying choreography and jaw-dropping circus stunts will be captivated by Hidden, which comes to Theatre Royal Winchester from Friday 2 May.

Hidden explores how, in a divided world and in times of crisis, light can come out of the dark; and showcases a group of fearless performers as they throw, catch and lift each other with immense, thrilling their audiences in this action-packed production.

Hidden is brought to the stage by the internationally renowned dance-circus company, Motionhouse – who audiences may recognise from their headline shows at Hat Fair – Winchester’s own Outdoor Arts festival – BLOCK and WILD; and their theatrical productions, Nobody and Starchitects. Motionhouse’s creations are inspired by common human concerns and their connection to the world – with recent works exploring themes such as flooding, the pressure of time, fear, and humans’ relationship with water, and more.

This brand-new show combines live performance with a shape-shifting set, an emotive soundscape and ground-breaking projections, which create an immersive world on stage.

Motionhouse is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

There is a post-show chat following Friday’s performance.

Hidden will be at Theatre Royal Winchester from Friday 2 – Saturday 3 May at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. For more information or to book tickets visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
