Play to the Crowd has announced that this year’s traditional family pantomime at Theatre Royal Winchester will be Puss in Boots, which will run from Saturday 29 November 2025 – Sunday 4 January 2026, with tickets now on sale
Puss in Boots will tell of the story of Colin, the poor Miller’s son. Life is tough for Colin – no money, no job and no chance of impressing the beautiful princess. It’s just him and his faithful cat, Puss.
However, Puss is no ordinary feline and soon turns Colin from zero to hero and adventures begin. But they’re going to need all the help they can get if Colin’s going to save the day and win the heart of the Princess.
This will be the first time that Puss in Boots has been performed at Theatre Royal Winchester; and will be written and directed by Robin Belfield, with music by Simon Slater.
The in-house production at Theatre Royal Winchester is a very traditional pantomime, with plenty of corny jokes and audience participation and is suitable for all the family. The production will focus on great storytelling, with a script and original songs and music written especially for the production, performed by an ensemble cast of actors, actor/musicians, and local young performers.
Cast announcements to follow, with community ensemble auditions and rehearsals later this year. The pantomime is kindly supported by regional law firm, Paris Smith.
There are a number of accessible performances available – relaxed, audio-described and BSL-interpreted.
Audiences are encouraged to book early to secure the best priced tickets. Tickets are available from just £12. Discounts for school and group bookings on selected shows.
