The Wonderful Wizard of Oz drone show comes to Southampton this month

It’s The Wizard of Oz – but almost certainly not as you’ve seen it before. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz drone light show has a 45-minute flight time, creating a whole evening of entertainment for families, couples and those looking to experience something different.

This spellbinding adaptation of the beloved novel invites you on a journey filled with excitement, heart, and timeless wisdom. Hundreds of drones dance across the night sky, weaving a tapestry of light. This epic-scale spectacle fuses cutting edge technology with artistic brilliance, promising an experience that will leave you and your loved ones mesmerised.

Join Dorothy and her faithful dog, Toto, as they embark on a whirlwind adventure that begins with a cyclone sweeping them from their Kansas farm to the Land of Oz. Along the way, they meet unforgettable friends: the brain-seeking Scarecrow, the heart-longing Tin Woodman and the courage-craving Cowardly Lion.

Together, they bravely confront the Wicked Witch and other life challenges, reminding us of the strength found in friendship and the power of self-belief. Watch as these iconic characters come to life above you, their stories illuminated in a magical display that resonates with audiences of all ages. Culminating in a triumphant moment as Dorothy clicks her heels together, awakening the power of Home. The show is a celebration of courage, connection, and the magic that lives within us all.

Attendees can also expect an extensive food village and stadium entertainment to enjoy before and after the show itself.

The event takes place on Saturday 8th March at Utilita Bowl, the home of Hampshire Cricket. Gates will open at 17:00, with the show starting at 19:00.
