Ocean Colour Scene to join the lineup for TK Maxx Presents Southampton Summer Sessions

Britpop legends Ocean Colour Scene will join the lineup for TK Maxx Presents Southampton Summer Sessions.

Taking to the stage in Guildhall Square on Friday 27 June, Ocean Colour Scene will be supported by fellow ’90s icons Cast and Echobelly. They join a stellar roster of previously announced artists including McFly, Train, The Human League, Simple Minds, and Rag’n’Bone Man. Tickets for Ocean Colour Scene’s show go on general sale on Friday 31 January.

Embracing classic pop and guitar jams in equal measure, Ocean Colour Scene (OCS) defined the best qualities of British trad rock that surfaced during the second half of the 1990s. Their album ‘Moseley Shoals’ went triple platinum in the UK, featuring iconic tracks like “The Riverboat Song,” “You’ve Got It Bad,” and “The Day We Caught the Train”. Success continued with 1997’s album ‘Marchin’ Already’, which produced hits such as “Hundred Mile High City” and “Travellers Tune”. In total, OCS have seventeen Top 40 singles and six Top Ten singles. In the years since their Britpop heyday, the band have continued to draw inspiration from soul, folk, and blues greats, keeping their classic rock flame lit by consistently recording and touring; 2025 will be the year OCS bring their rip-roaring live set to Southampton Summer Sessions.

Cast and Echobelly are set to accompany Ocean Colour Scene at Southampton Summer Sessions. Cast, a seminal Britpop band with roots in the British Invasion era, will bring their hit-packed repertoire, featuring “Fine Time,” “Alright,” and “Walkaway,” to Guildhall Square. Echobelly, led by the charismatic Sonya Madan, will bring a fusion of punk, glam, and new wave to the stage. With influential albums like ‘Everyone’s Got One’ and ‘On,’ Echobelly’s impact on ’90s British indie music is undeniable. The trio of bands invites fans to immerse themselves in the true essence of Britpop with an event that will transport attendees back to the golden days of the ’90s, whisking them away on a nostalgic journey through the best of the era.

Tickets go on general sale on Friday 31 January via smmrsessions.com and ticketmaster.co.uk.
