Preview: John Shuttleworth, Theatre Royal Winchester

Comedy fans can welcome the return of Radio 4 favourite, John Shuttleworth, as he takes to the stage to celebrate his career, at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 12 February.

John Shuttleworth is a fictional singer-songwriter and radio presenter created in 1985 and performed by comedy actor and musician Graham Fellows.

In RAISE THE OOF, John celebrates 40 years in showbiz including meeting TV’s Clarinet Man – next door neighbour, Ken Worthington, who appeared on New Faces in 1973, as well as exploring his lack of chart success, gig bookings at the local hospice, and retirement.

Described as ‘the 42nd best reason to love Britain’ (The Telegraph) and his stand up ‘second to none’ (The Guardian), John returns with more hilarious stories and songs performed on his trusty Yamaha organ (with built-in auto accompaniment).

RAISE THE OOF with John Shuttleworth will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 12 February at7.30pm. For more information, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
