Peace Protest for Gaza returns to Southampton on Saturday

Palestine Solidarity Campaign Southampton (PSC) will be holding another Peace Protest, calling for an end to genocide in Gaza, on Saturday, November 16th.

The event will begin at the Civic Centre (opposite Stage Door) at 1pm, with a march before returning to the Civic Centre for short speeches, covering topics from the UN to the UK Government positions and more.

Organisers said: “There will also be a short peaceful protest outside Barclays Bank before the Peace Protest.”

More than 43,736 people have been killed in Gaza since the current onslaught by Israeli forces begun last October.

Recent figures from the United Nations’ Human Rights office show that almost 70% of verified victims over a six-month period were women and children and has condemned the high number of civilians killed.

The organisation said it found “unprecedented” levels of international law violations, raising concerns about “war crimes and other possible atrocity crimes”.

PSC Southampton has held regular peace protests in the city centre calling for a ceasefire in Gaza over the last year, working alongside such organisations as Stop the War and The Muslim Council of Southampton.
