There’s an under the radar rumbling of anticipation building for Liverpool’s Stone. Having built up a loyal following playing headline shows, support shows and festivals there’s no doubting their work ethic. Stone have toured almost without breaks in both mainland Europe as well as the UK, playing as support over the past year for bands including DMA’S.
Stone
They are currently on the home stretch of the Fear Life For A Lifetime tour (which is the title for the debut album released in the summer of 2024). Later this year Stone join Jake Bugg on The Modern Day Distraction tour.
At The Wedgewood Rooms there was a real buzz of excitement in the audience and Stone didn’t disappoint. They played a mixture of album songs and previous singles/EP tracks and if there were any doubters in the room at the beginning they were well and truly converted by the end of the set.

There’s not a lot of chat from front man Fin Power, he lets the music talk for him although he did reference the fact that his dog had just died which made him quite emotional and also relatable to the wider crowd.
The setlist was cleverly crafted in that the songs built up the excitement and when the final song ‘Leave It Out’ finished and the band left the stage we all wanted more. Check out the album ‘Fear Life For A Lifetime’ and expect to see Stone getting bigger and bigger festival slots and venues over the next few years.
The Straights
Stone were supported by Portsmouth band The Straights who themselves had had some great support slots including Buzzcocks and Inspiral Carpets. The Straights are punky/indie/rock n roll, it’s not easy to put them in one box. Great energy and some fantastic songs. They have just finished recording new music so look out for some new tunes coming soon.
