Theatre fans are invited to immerse themselves in a comedic, chaotic radio play set-up, with performers playing multiple characters, when R.O.G.E.R Radio Attempts Frankenstein comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Tuesday 29 October.

The show tells of a charming radio company attempting to perform a radio-play of the spine-tingling horror classic, Frankenstein, amidst the loss of their foley artist – the person who recreates the sound effects, misbehaving props; and the actors’ rivalry.

It takes the audience on a journey from an ice-bound sailing shop to a science lab, there is a romantic wedding, and death and destruction as Victor Frankenstein creates and then rejects his monster – who will learn to thrive or seek vengeance.

A tribute to the glory days of radio, R.O.G.E.R Radio Attempts Frankenstein comes from the award-winning Oddsocks Productions – one of the UK’s best-loved touring theatre companies; now celebrating thirty-five years; and whose productions have included adaptations of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, and Robin Hood.

The show will appeal to audiences who want to enjoy the adventure of the original story, Frankenstein, while being swept up bythe co-ordinated chaos of the show and the comic timing of the performers – who play multiple characters.

R.O.G.E.R Radio Attempts Frankenstein will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Tuesday 29 October at 7pm. For more information, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
