Simple Minds will headline TK Maxx Summer Sessions when they return to Southampton on Sunday 29 June 2025.
The announcement comes following the success of 2024’s inaugural Southampton Summer Sessions—which featured world-class headliners such as Placebo, Tom Jones, Loyle Carner and Nile Rodgers & CHIC.
Simple Minds are one of the UK’s most successful bands, with six No.1 albums and chart-topping success in countries around the world including Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand.
Over a 40-year career, the band has explored a wide range of musical styles — from avant-garde and art-rock to stadium anthems — while remaining quintessentially Simple Minds.
Famed for hits like Don’t You (Forget About Me), and UK No.1, Belfast Child, Simple Minds has sold over 60 million records. The band has seen three studio albums, Sparkle In The Rain, Once Upon A Time, and Street Fighting Years hit No.1 in the UK, alongside live album, Live In The City Of Light.
A legendary live band, Simple Minds has headlined major stadiums worldwide, starred at Live Aid, and played iconic shows in honour of Nelson Mandela.
After a successful UK-wide expansion in 2024, in partnership with Cuffe & Taylor, Summer Sessions are now firmly established across multiple cities, including Bedford, Plymouth, Derby and Southampton.
“We are absolutely thrilled to bring Simple Minds to headline the Summer Sessions,” says Peter Taylor, Co-Founder of Cuffe & Taylor. “They are an iconic band with a legendary catalogue of hits that have defined generations, and their live performances are truly second to none.
“After the success of last year’s Summer Sessions, we are excited to raise the bar even higher in 2025. These shows will be a real highlight of the summer, and we can’t wait to welcome fans for what promises to be another incredible series of events.”
Tickets will go on general sale on Friday 4 October via smmrsessions.com/ticketmaster.co.uk.
