Comedy theatre fans get the chance to enjoy an Edinburgh Fringe success when Pleading Stupidity comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Tuesday 15 October.
It tells the story of Chad and Brad who robbed a bank while they were bored on their gap year – but who were wearing their name tags from work, took selfies with the stolen cash, and whose getaway plan was flawed!
In court their defence was pleading stupidity, and, now that they’re out of prison, Chad and Brad and the bank tellers they robbed are here to tell the true story* of two Australian legends and their crazy adventures in Colorado. They just have to agree how to tell it!
Packed with physical comedy, action and verbatim speech, this high-energy show comes from theatre company, Maybe You Like It, which was formed to create stage shows, audio shows and podcasts that entertain audiences with accessible, comedic work.
Pleading Stupidity enjoyed a hugely successful run at The Pleasance venue at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe and the company’s other shows include ‘a play in several powerpoints’ – Sorry (I Broke Your Arms and Legs) – and Redacted Arachnid – about a musical that goes wrong.
Following the performance there will be a post-show chat. Pleading Stupidity is a Pick Your Price event meaning audiences can choose the ticket option that works best for them. Tickets start from £8.
