Winchester Comedy Festival’s Autumn Gala is here

Winchester Comedy Festival bring another host of well-known comedians to Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 27 September for an evening of laughter.

This autumn the gala line-up includes faces from TV including Shazia Mirza, Sean McLoughlin, Andrew White and Tom Deacon as MC.

The award-winning Shazia Mirza is a British stand up and writer who has appeared on the likes of QI and Have I Got News for You, and on radio. Her new show, Coconut, has been nominated for Best Stand Up Tour in Channel 4’s National Comedy Awards. She can also be heard on the podcast, Pale, Male and Stale – taking an irreverent look at current affairs.

Sean McLoughlin is an acclaimed comedian and writer whose appearances include Live At The Apollo and Stand Up Central. He has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, Hollywood Bowl and Sydney Opera House. Plus, his material on the world of technology has seen him perform at tech conferences, including a keynote speech at Amsterdam’s Emerce Eday.

Described as ‘one to watch’ by fellow comedian, Joe Lycett, Andrew White performs year-round, from famous comedy clubs to packed festival tents. His skilful writing has also seen him write for TV shows like Mock The Week and he has amassed a huge online following. The Daily Record newspaper reported Andrew has an act ‘not to be missed’.

The evening’s MC is comedian, Tom Deacon – who is known for hosting his own BBC Radio 1 show; TV appearances on the likes of The Rob Brydon Show and Dave’s One Night Stand; and following The Champions League as The Eurofan, on YouTube.
