A West End star and Dolly Parton impersonator takes to the stage in The Dolly Show at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 10 July.
Kelly O’Brien appears as country music singer Dolly Parton – and the only Parton impersonator to be endorsed by the Parton family itself – capturing the voice, vigor and voluptuousness of the Tennessee star, known for classics such as 9 to 5, Jolene, Islands in the stream, I will always love you, and many more.
O’Brien – who was voted the UK’s best Dolly Parton impersonator by The Agents Association of Great Britain – is an Australian born entertainer who began singing country music in her teens and was crowned South Australian Country Vocalist of the Year before making TV appearances in her own country and in the UK on BBC One and ITV’s This Morning, and featuring in The Times, Daily Mail and Metro newspapers.
She has starred in Starlight Express and Cabaret; appeared at festival events and sung privately for Michael Buble; she was a lookalike for a Green Flag TV campaign; invited to Nashville to sing with Dolly Parton’s band; and chosen by Dolly Parton as the winner of an online campaign.
O’Brien has been captivating audiences around the world with her stunning vocals and flawless comic timing, leaving them feeling as if the real Dolly Parton is in the room with them – with TV chat show host Jonathan Ross even stating: ‘I thought it was Dolly’. She will be accompanied on stage in Winchester by some of the UK’s finest musicians.
The Dolly Show will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 10 July at 7.30pm. For more information or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
