Play to the Crowd – the arts and education charity that runs Theatre Royal Winchester, Hat Fair and Playmakers – is looking for support cast members for this year’s traditional family pantomime, Mother Goose, which will run from Saturday 30 November 2024 to Sunday 5 January 2025.
The charity, which produces the theatre’s annual pantomime, wants to hear from local performers with dance experience, who are also keen on acting and singing, and want to volunteer as support cast members and work with the professional actors in the show.
This is a great opportunity for those who want to broaden their performance and industry experience and work with established professionals.
Applications to become a support cast member are welcome from anyone aged 16+ (or age 16 by 31 August 2024). The closing date for applications is Monday 1 July at 11.59pm and the auditions will take place on Sunday 7 July from 11am – 3.30pm at Unit 12, Winnall Valley Road, Winchester, SO23 0LD.
The audition will be primarily dance based and auditionees will learn one or two dance routines before performing them in small groups to the show’s choreographer and director. The rehearsals will then run throughout November.
