Fans of a classic Victorian ghost story are in for a treat with The Signalman at Theatre Royal Winchester from Thursday 14 to Saturday 16 March.
The Signalman tells of a terrified signalman who unburdens himself on to a young student who chances upon his railway cutting, telling him a chilling tale of a spectre – a faceless figure – that haunts him, and the terrible disasters that follow each one of its appearances.
But what is the horror the ghost is trying to warn him about and is the young man’s visit as innocent as it first appears?
Described as a triumph, this spine-chilling play based on Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story is by actor, playwright and theatre company founder, John Goodrum, and is brought to the stage by Rumpus Theatre Company who present new and established plays in audience-friendly productions and were last at the theatre with Tell-Tale Heart.
