A must-see ghost story visits Theatre Royal Winchester in the shape of Shock Horror on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 October.
It tells the story of a horror fanatic, obsessed with finishing his life’s work, who returns home to a haunted cinema – and, as his mind unravels, painful memories awake from the dead and something else waits for him too – something much worse!
Described as Stranger Things meets The Woman in Black, Shock Horror explores childhood nightmares and being afraid of the dark. A haunting, cutting-edge story, it takes the audience on a terrifying journey.
With live stage performance, illusion and multi-media screen action, this critically acclaimed show, which last year sold out, is back – to excite, unsettle and thill audience members brave enough to take a seat to watch!
Shock Horror is brought to the stage by Thunder Road – a multi award-winning theatre company specialising in original horror shows. It began in 2012, reimagining cult novels and their shows include The Invisible Man, 20,000 Leagues and Hyde. Thunder Road was created by producer and actor, Alex Moran – who also stars in Shock Horror and whose other work includes War Horse (National Theatre).
Shock Horror is written by the theatre company’s resident writer and director, Ryan Simons – who has also worked on Eastenders, Emmerdale and Spooks. The show’s cast includes actors who have worked in theatre and the likes of Doctors and Hollyoaks.
