On the 16th of September, Transgender Pride Southampton will return to the city.
Like last year, this will be an event run for trans people, by trans people. The organisers, Trans Pride Southampton, welcome allies, both within and outside of the wider LGBTQIA+ community, to join, marching together and sharing in this moment.
The event will start with a protest march, assembling at noon at the Bargate in the city centre. The procession will then go up Above Bar Street, turning onto Commercial Road, to then enter Watts Park.
Following the march, Trans Pride this year will host speeches from people in the local community. After another turbulent year for the trans community, there will undoubtedly be a lot to say and reflect on.
Following speeches, Trans Pride Southampton invites people to stay in the park if they would like to socialise, with a casual picnic.
If you would like to be a speaker on the day, contact Trans Pride Southampton to fill in a short form.
Trans Pride Southampton is in need of volunteers on the day, contact Trans Pride Southampton for more information and to get involved.
