May gives way to June this week, I’ve finally turned my heating off and this weekend it’s People’s Pride Party in the Park, so it is officially summer!
Southampton band Hunting Hearts headline at Party in the Park on Sunday (last year’s march is pictured), and there is loads more on across the two days so be sure to check it out.
On stage, Disney’s iconic Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin and their best friends Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Rabbit, Owl, and Tigger come to life in a beautifully crafted musical stage adaptation, at Mayflower Theatre from Wednesday 31 May to Sunday 4 June. Child audiences can enjoy one of the greatest prehistoric shows on Earth when Dinosaur Adventure Live comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 June.
This week sees the beginning of the first ever Wilder Southampton Festival, which runs throughout June, with a host of events across the city offering the chance to reconnect with our natural world.
Live music includes Battle Born at The Joiners, The Phonics at The Brook and the Damian Cook Quartet at Whiskey Blue.
Other events include a talk about swifts at October Books, the Creative Connections exhibition continues at Southampton City Art Gallery, while an open-air adaptation of a David Walliams’ children’s book, Bad Dad, at Itchen Valley Country Park is the highlight of a busy half-term of events at The Point and The Berry Theatre, on June 4th.
