A workshop and talk on alternative economics will be held at independent bookshop October Books in Portswood, Southampton, on May 25th.
With our current economic model we are continuing to see exploitation of workers and the planet and extraction of wealth to the rich.
What are the alternative economic models to this? How can they work for the wellbeing of people and the planet.
At this talk and workshop, attendees will hear of some of these models together with practical solutions and stories that can inspire evryon3 in making changes.
Dr Arvind Sivaramakrishnan will outline some theories, Liz Batten will provide an introduction to Doughnut Economics, and Nathan Brown will talk about the cooperative model of running businesses. This will be in a workshop format there will be time to explore questions around the topics.
There will be further evenings to explore some of the themes in greater detail, so keep an eye on the October Books website for details of these.
