It’s Easter and there’s plenty of related fun to be had. This includes the Friends of St James’ Park Easter Eggstravorganza (check out that double pun) in St James Park in Shirley on Monday 10th. As the name suggests, as well an Easter trail, it features fairground organs, as well as a children’s inflatable play area, stalls, a tombola, lucky dip, carousel, and much more For more information visit the event page.
Continuing the theme of community events, October Books is hosting a launch for their latest exhibition, Take me to the Sea on April 6. For more information, click here.
With so many fantastic small venues, as well as a few larger ones, there is, as always, some fantastic music to choose from this week. Billie Marten will be at Vinilo Record Store for an intimate ‘instore’ gig on April 9th (click here for details), Interesting Wallpaper are at The Platform Tavern on the 6th, Iago Banet is at The Stage Door on the 7th and The Flatliners are at The Joiners on the 9th, while further afield, the Takedown Festival comes to Portsmouth on the 8th (click here for more information).
On stage, SpongeBob SquarePants is at the Mayflower Theatre, although Gareth Gates has been replaced following an injury (click here for a preview), while bridging the music and stage categories is An Evening Without Kate Bush at MAST Mayflower Studios on the 9th.
