Protest songs, warrior queens, magical worlds, a very long running show, dinosaur-loving DJs and more are amongst the entertainment options on offer this week.
Southampton Philharmonic Choir and Southampton University Philharmonic Choir will be performing Vaughan WIlliams’ The Lark Ascending and Dona Nobis Pacem and Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light at the O2 Guildhall Southampton on Saturday, March 18. Docklands Sinfonia will also be performing.
Fans of the supernatural and murder mysteries will enjoy the classic story, The Tell-Tale Heart, which will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on March 16 to 18 (click here for more). Meanwhile, the Rocky Horror show is celebrating its 50th year and coming to the Mayflower Theatre from March 20 (click here for an interview with creator Richard O’Brien).
Celebrate inspiring and trail-blazing women of history with Kate Mosse: Warrior Queens & Quiet Revolutionaries (How Women (Also) Built the World) at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 15 March (click here for more details).
Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty comes to Mayflower Theatre from Tuesday 14 to Saturday 18 March 2023, bringing a magical world of fairies and vampires in a timeless tale of good versus evil is turned upside-down, creating a supernatural love story that even the passage of time itself cannot hinder (click here for more information and look out for the review).
There will also be a chance to watch great theatre on the big screen with National Theatre Live bringing Othello to Theatre Royal Winchester (click here for more details).
The ever joyful Still Moving DJs & The Uplifter will be at The Brook with special guests on Friday. If you can possibly catch them, do.
