Fans of historical drama will be captivated by the story of adventurer, lover and traitor, Sir Walter Raleigh when That Knave, Raleigh comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 30 April.

The show, which takes audiences back to the Elizabethan era, tells the story of one of Britain’s most famous men from history, Elizabeth I’s favourite and James I’s knave – the explorer, sailor, dandy and warrior, Sir Walter Raleigh.

A journey through his 65 years, the highs and lows, the show examines the father, husband, writer, philosopher, soldier, tyrant, egotist, visionary and victim, his life and the final chapter – the most daring, strange and heart-breaking.

That Knave, Raleigh is brought to the stage by the award-winning Dyad Productions who create and produce theatre with an emphasis on new writing and radical interpretations of existing texts; with productions including I, Elizabeth; Lady Susan; A Room of One’s Own; Austen’s Women; Christmas Carol and more. The show is written and performed by Andrew Margerison who trained and performed with London-based theatre company, Frantic Assembly; and directed by Dyad Productions founder, Rebecca Vaughan.
