Audiences interested in learning more about leaving a gift in their will are invited to a special event – The Stories We Leave Behind: Remembering a Charity in Your Will – at Theatre Royal Winchester on Monday 7 April.
This free and insightful event will explore the power of legacy giving and the difference a gift in a will can make to a charity like Play to the Crowd, which runs Theatre Royal Winchester and Hat Fair – Winchester’s Outdoor Arts festival, and whose work is made possible thanks to the generosity of people who came before. The event will explore how a legacy gift can ensure culture and creativity thrive in Winchester for generations to come.
The event, which will be hosted on the theatre’s historic stage, will include one-to-one conversations with legal and financial experts sharing advice on writing a will and managing wealth; simple guidance on how to remember a charity in a will; plus, an exclusive backstage tour revealing the theatre’s hidden history, and a complimentary drink.
The event is open to anyone who is new to the idea of remembering a charity in their will or wants to understand more about how they can support the arts in Winchester; and is a unique opportunity to start a conversation about this subject and learn how a simple decision can make a lasting difference to a charity like Play to the Crowd.
The event forms part of Winchester’s inaugural Legacy Action Week (7 – 13 April) – a collaborative initiative with eight local charities to raise awareness of the lasting impact of gifts in wills to small, community-focused organisations. More information is available at legacyactionweek.com.
The event is free but places are limited.
The Stories We Leave Behind: Remembering a Charity in Your Will will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Monday 7 April from 6.30pm – 7.30pm. For more information or to book tickets visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
