Family audiences can enjoy the colourful puppetry and joyous songs in Room on the Broom when it comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 7 to Sunday 9 February.
Based on children’s book author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler’s best-selling tale, Room on the Broom tells the story of a witch and her cat travelling on a broomstick when they stop to pick up a hitch-hiking friendly dog, a green bird, and a frantic frog.
But the broomstick is not meant for five and it snaps in two just as a hungry dragon appears!
A fun-filled adventure story and, this Olivier Award-nominated show suitable for ages 3+ is by Tall Stories Theatre Company, whose shows – including other child favourites, The Gruffalo, The Snail and the Whale, The Elmer Adventure and adult ghost story, The Canterville Ghost – tour the UK and world.
The performances of Room on the Broom are part-funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which aims to increase life chances across the UK by investing in communities and places, supporting local business, people and skills.
