Theatre Royal Winchester has been enjoying incredible feedback from audiences about this year’s traditional family pantomime, Mother Goose – with the show now in its third week and running until Sunday 5 January 2025.

The story of a poor lady whose fortunes change when she meets the magical goose, Priscilla, who can lay the golden eggs, has been seen by school groups, families, press and guests – with audiences describing the show as ‘highly entertaining’, ‘the best yet’, ‘a truly magical show’, ‘great fun’, ‘family friendly’, ‘a fab day out’ – and also reflecting on the show’s ‘great storytelling’ and ‘original music and songs’.

It is the first time that Mother Goose has been performed at the theatre, and this year the pantomime features a cast of actor musicians who have performed across the country and in the West End, on TV and radio – in shows such as Peppa Pig’s Adventure, Call the Midwife, Turning the Screw, and adaptations of King Lear and Beauty and the Beast – with a number of the cast familiar faces from previous pantos, including Julian Eardley as Mother Goose, Brontë Alice-Tadman as Demon Vice. and Libby Gore as Fairy Virtue.

The pantomime is suitable for all ages – with corny jokes, original songs, live music and plenty of audience participation.

Mother Goose runs until Sunday 5 January 2025 – with one more relaxed and BSL-interpreted performance available to book (Wed 01 Jan) and two opportunities for audiences to livestream the pantomime to watch in their own home (Sun 22 Dec and Sun 29 Dec).

Mother Goose is supported by Play to the Crowd’s Corporate Partner, regional law firm, Paris Smith.
