McFly and The Human League announced to play TK Maxx Presents Southampton Summer Sessions

Today, Live Nation and leading live music and event promoter Cuffe & Taylor have announced two more headliners for the TK Maxx Presents Southampton Summer Sessions lineup. Joining the roster are pop-rock favourites McFly and genre-defining trailblazers The Human League, performing at Guildhall Square in June 2025. These latest showstoppers join already announced headliner acts, Rag’n’Bone Man, The Stranglers, UB40 ft. Ali Campbell and Simple Minds. Tickets for the new names will go on general sale on Friday, 06 December.

On Sunday 22 June, McFly will light up the stage at Southampton Summer Sessions, bringing their high-powered energy to the city of Southampton. It’s been 21 years since the band first burst onto the scene with breakout hit “Five Colours In Her Hair,” evolving into one of the UK’s most successful acts. With seven UK number-one singles, including “All About You” and “Star Girl,” alongside seven Top 10 albums and over 10 million sales, McFly have earned multiple Platinum certifications and a BRIT Award for Best British Pop. Fresh from celebrating their 21st anniversary with two sold-out O2 Arena shows, McFly will deliver a set that reflects on their impressive career while showcasing tracks from their latest album, ‘Power to Play’.

The Human League, synth-pop’s first international superstars, will headline Southampton Summer Sessions on Thursday, 10 July. Formed in Sheffield in 1977, the band rose to prominence with their 1981 album Dare, which propelled them to global fame with hits like “Don’t You Want Me,” a song that topped both UK and US charts and redefined electronic music. Their groundbreaking fusion of electronic rhythms and cutting-edge production continued to dominate the charts throughout the ’80s and ’90s with tracks like “Mirror Man,” “(Keep Feeling) Fascination,” and “Human.” A BRIT Award for Best British Breakthrough Act and a career that has influenced generations of artists solidify their status as pioneers of synth-pop. Known for their innovative live shows, including Adrian Wright’s striking visual presentations, The Human League bring a fresh vivacity to every performance.
