Southampton is home to ZoieLogic Dance Theatre, a nationally acclaimed dance organisation who has been challenging who dance is for, where and how you experience it for 24 years. They specialise in initiatives aimed at getting men and boys dancing since their beginning..
Their latest offers include something for most ages and all abilities:
The Collective offers a supportive environment for men to explore dance, regardless of experience. No prior dance knowledge is required—just a willingness to move and have fun. Participants come from across the South Coast, bringing diverse experiences and creating a vibrant community of men through shared movement.
ZoieLogic’s youth offer includes a series of opportunities for boys to explore dance and creativity at various levels. FuzzyVision is a fun, beginner-friendly class where boys with no prior dance experience can build foundational movement and creative expression. FuzzyClear is a specialised company designed for boys and young men with autism and sensory differences, offering a supportive environment that fosters confidence and performance skills through improvisation and storytelling. For those seeking to develop and join a dance company – FuzzyLogic is a nationally acclaimed touring company that has become a launchpad for many young male dancers pursuing professional careers.
ZoieLogic is on a mission to get thousands of men moving to improve men’s mental health. The Big Movement is set to inspire men of all ages to dance and get active. With smaller ‘dancefloors’ pop-up across the city to a mass dance event in June – The Big Movement is a great event to get involved with.
ManMade is an all-boys youth dance platform, first launched in 2010. Working with schools, colleges and settings ZoieLogic’s dance artists guide students through creative workshops that culminate in live performances at a professional venue. There is a current opportunity for schools, colleges and education settings in Southampton and the surrounding area to take part for free.
As ZoieLogic continues to develop and deliver these impactful projects, Southampton is emerging as a leading hub for male dance. With growing participation through The Collective, Fuzzy, and ManMade.
ZoieLogic is committed to providing spaces where men and boys can engage in dance for their physical, mental, and social wellbeing. For more information on how to join The Collective, Fuzzy, ManMade, or The Big Movement, visit ZoieLogic’s website or contact info@zoielogic.co.uk.
