Family audiences can enjoy the heart-warming tale of The Smartest Giant in Town when the stage adaptation of the Julia Donaldson story comes to Theatre Royal Winchester from Saturday 26 October.
The Smartest Giant in Town by the beloved children’s book author, Julia Donaldson, with illustration by Axel Scheffler, tells of George who wishes he wasn’t the scruffiest giant in town so decides to opt for a smart new look when he spots a new shop selling giant-sized clothes. He chooses smart trousers and a shirt, a stripy tie and shiny shoes.
Now he’s the smartest giant in town until he bumps into some animals who need his help and his clothes!
A musical adventure filled with puppets, exploring friendship and helping others in need, The Smartest Giant in Town is brought to the stage by Little Angel Theatre – who have previously enjoyed success with adaptations of Donaldson’s The Singing Mermaid and The Everywhere Bear – and FierylightProductions – whose productions feature beloved children’s characters including Bing, Peppa Pig, Ben & Holly and the Teletubbies.
The Smartest Giant in Town will be at Theatre Royal Winchester from Saturday 26 – Sunday 27 October at various times. Recommended age: 3+. For more information, including about relaxed performances, or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
