Their upcoming Shout season takes place across October and November, with a wide variety of events and shows for all ages.
The season kicks off on 5 October with the sensational family show Stories in the Dust, an eco-fable full of original music, puppetry and lots of laughs.
Next up is Our Version Media’s Community Stories Screening, in line with this year’s national Black History Month, the theme of this community stories screening is “Reclaiming Narratives”. Our Version Media is one of MAST’s resident partners.
MAST’s next Family Fun Day is joining the Shout Season line up. Family Fun Day offers a variety of activities suitable for all ages including face painting, crafts, workshops and scratch performances.
If you love getting to see new theatre, MAST’s PROPEL: Scratch Night is the Shout Season show for you! Scratch Nights showcase work-in-progress extracts of brand-new theatre and performance from a selection of local artists.
Another of MAST’s resident partners, Artful Scribe, are also presenting some excellent spoken word performances this Shout Season, with a double bill of Musclebound and My Child, The Algorithm.
Closing this Shout Season is the incredible play, FORT. A coming of age story that centres around two best friends and their search for a mysterious ghost. Originally drafted on a Royal Court Introductory Group, Fort was longlisted for the Bruntwood Prize 2022 and shortlisted for the Masterclass Pitch Your Play Award.
There’s even more to come with two more Shout Season shows that are on sale soon:
Chosen is the next new musical from the Rewrites showcase. Imagine accidentally killing Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker, or Jesus and having to take their place. Chosen is a pop-rock comedy musical about Sue, an IT Support Technician in her 60s, who wakes from a coma to discover half the world has been zombified. After accidentally killing the prophesied ‘Chosen One’, Sue must assume their identity and save humanity herself.
Earth Mother is a work in progress performance and climate emergency panel discussion.
