This Saturday (31/8/24), Palestine Solidarity Campaign is holding a National Day of Action across the UK on the theme of divestment.
PSC is urging banks, local government pension funds, and universities to withdraw investments from companies that help sustain Israeli apartheid.
In support of the campaign, PSC Southampton will be holding their regular peace protest through Southampton, calling for an immediate end to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, which has seen more than 40,000 killed in Gaza since October 7th – 1 in every 55 people within the enclave, 70% of whom are women and children, with more than 92,400 injured.
Saturday’s event will go on to feature guest speakers and a picnic lunch by the Peace Fountain in East Andrews Park.
Protestors will leave Guildhall Square at 12 noon to go to Bargate and then to the park for speakers and picnic lunch. Attendees are invited to bring their own food.
This is a family friendly event.
