Audiences are in for a spectacular cinema screening with a difference when Andre Rieu’s 2024 Maastricht Concert: Power of Love comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Sunday 1 September.
The world-famous violinist and conductor presents a brand new cinema concert from his picturesque hometown of Maastricht, Netherlands, featuring a unique repertoire combining classical music, pop, rock and musical numbers – iconic film scores, beautiful waltzes, ballads and chart hits.
The artist best known for creating the waltz has enjoyed countless awards including three Classical Brit Awards for Album of the Year and no.1 chart positions worldwide; billions of Youtube views; and CD and DVD sales in the tens of millions. Rieu is one of the biggest solo male touring artists in the world.
For his concert, Power of Love, he is accompanied by his Johann Strauss Orchestra (the largest private orchestra in the world) and a cast of hundreds against the backdrop of the historic Vrijthof square.
