The popular Mela Festival returns to Southampton this weekend.

Taking place on Saturday at Hoglands Park in the city centre, the site will open at 11am, with the first acts taking to the stage at noon and the main stage featuring performances until 10pm.

This year, the opening times have been lengthened to give everyone a couple of extra hours to experience the fun, eclectic vibrant atmosphere, sample delicious food from around the world and dance and sing to international acts on the festival’s three stages.

The Mela is a festival for all the family, young and old, to come and relax, soak up the colourful sites, try new things at workshop and enjoy the cultural diversity of the event.

It will feature three stages, offering a wide range of dance and music, alongside puppets, circus acts, stilt walkers and much more.

Why not kick off the day by joining in the Mela Parade? Meet on the ground floor of WestQuay Shopping Centre for the vibrant and colourful Mela Parade. At 12:30pm, the parade, filled with lively music and visual arts acts, will make its way to the Southampton Mela Festival in Hoglands Park.
