In the last 9 months, more than 37,500 people have been killed in Gaza. It is estimated that 70% of these deaths are woman and children. This week a report was published in The Lancet stating that it is reasonable to estimate that the current conflict will result in 186,000 deaths.
With the ongoing onslaught on civilians in Gaza by Israeli forces, on Sunday (July 14th) there will be a march and rally in Southampton, calling for a ceasefire.
Protesters are invited to gather in the city’s Guildhall Square by noon, before marching to the Bargate and back, when there will be an opportunity to listen to invited speakers.
The event is organised by Palestine Solidarity Campaign Southampton and the Muslim Council of Southampton.
