Children’s shows this summer at Mayflower Theatre & MAST Mayflower Studios

The team at Mayflower Theatre and MAST Mayflower Studios announce details of the exciting and broad mix of children’s entertainment shows that will be performing across both venues during the 2024 school summer holidays.

With a variety of enjoyment for all young ages, audiences can enjoy the delight of live performances across both venues this summer.

Shows include:

Zog and the Flying Doctors – 23 – 25 July 2024 at MAST Mayflower Studios

Zog, super keen student turned air-ambulance, still lands with a bang-crash-thump.

Together with his Flying Doctor crew, Princess Pearl, and Sir Gadabout, they tend to a sunburnt mermaid, a unicorn with one too many horns and a lion with the flu. However, Pearl’s uncle, the King, has other ideas about whether princesses should be doctors, and she’s soon locked up in the castle back in a crown and a silly frilly dress.

With a bit of help from some friends and half a pound of cheese, Pearl needs to make her uncle better and prove that princesses can be doctors too.

Science Museum Live – 30 – 31 July 2024 at MAST Mayflower Studios

London’s world-renowned Science Museum are bringing their brand-new stage production aimed at igniting curiosity, fuelling imaginations, and inspiring audiences in new and exciting ways.

Mayflower Summer Youth Project presents: Bugsy Malone – 16 – 17 August 2024 at Mayflower Theatre

Based on the classic Alan Parker movie, Bugsy Malone – which launched the careers of Scott Baio and Jodie Foster. This new production will feature over 150 talented young people from across the Southampton area.

Filled with the stunning songs, Fat Sam’s Grand Slam, My Name is Tallulah, You Give a Little Love and of course Bugsy Malone. The show takes place in Prohibition era, New York.

Madagascar the Musical – 21 – 24 August 2024 at Mayflower Theatre

Meet the favourite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.

Starring CBBC and Strictly Come Dancing star Karim Zeroual as King Julien, audiences should get ready to join Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria and the hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime.

Bluey’s Big Play – 27 – 30 August 2024 at Mayflower Theatre

Audiences of all ages will get to see Bluey, her younger sister Bingo, and Mum & Dad Bandit and Chilli, as they’ve never seen them before, as Bluey & Her family embark on their first live theatre show, made just for you, featuring brilliantly created puppets, live actors, and iconic sets.
