October Books marks Independent Bookshop Week

October Books marks Independent Bookshop Week

October Books is Southampton’s main independent bookshop. Next week is Independent Bookshop Week, 15th – 22nd June and October Books is celebrating the occasion with a special event and by offering savings for everyone through the week.

On June 17th, they will will be joined by Brazen Books founder Romilly Morgan for a discussion around independent booksellers and fiction in translation.

Customers can get 10% off all books* bought in the shop during Independent Bookshop Week. This includes the latest exciting releases, inspirational reads and wonderful classics chosen by the October Books community.

‘Come in and browse our wonderful book selection, buy your next summer read, and chat to us about why we love this long lived indie bookshop so much!’ said Jack, Bookbuying Coordinator. ‘We know how much people want to support independent bookshops, and we understand that the cost of living crisis means this can be difficult. We hope that this offer will make it easier for people to come along and pick out their next read and discover what this indie shop has to offer.’

Alongside the books, October Books also sell products made by local makers, ethical and organic foods, a cleaning and toiletries refillery, together with their popular range of quirky and beautiful cards and gifts.

*T&C’s apply.

The October Books story began in 1977 and along with three location moves, a growing team and fantastic support from their volunteers and local community, they are planning to continue to flourish on the high street in Portswood for many years to come.  For more information, visit octoberbooks.org
