Comedy audiences are invited to an evening of stand-up with Winchester Comedy Festival’s Summer Gala at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 28 June.
This is a brilliant evening of top comedy from a host of award-winning comedians who have appeared on and written for national TV and radio, including Zoe Lyons who trained as an actress before winning awards for comedy, performing at festivals worldwide, and appearing in shows such as Mock the Week and Alan Davies As Yet Untitled.
Plus, Jonny Pelham who has popped up in shows including Live at the Apollo and Russell Howard’s Stand-up Central, written and starred in his own scripted comedy projects, and worked as a script consultant for the BAFTA-winning sitcom, Alma’s Not Normal. While Julian Deane, who was named ITV Stand Up Hero, has supported the likes of Paul Chowdhry and hosts a podcast called Two Vegan Idiots.
Finally, the evening’s MC is Tom Deacon who has hosted his own BBC radio show and followed The Champions League around the world as The Eurofan on Youtube.
Winchester Comedy Festival has become well-known for presenting events across the city showcasing some of the biggest names in comedy. Over the years the line-ups have included Ed Byrne, Mark Watson and Winchester’s own Paul McCaffrey.
