Devoted readers of Sir Terry Pratchett’s fantastical novels are invited to a celebratory evening exploring his life and work when The Magic of Terry Pratchett comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Saturday 15 June.
Terry Pratchett was the author of over fifty bestselling books including The Colour of Magic – the first in his Discworld series, Good Omens, Going Postal, and The Carpet People – his debut novel; and many of his novels have been adapted for stage and screen.
The Magic of Terry Pratchett journeys through the award-winning author’s life from his days as a school librarian, and his time as a trainee journalist, to his untimely death from Alzheimer’s disease, recalling his wit and wisdom, influences; and audiences will delight in hearing the cock’n’bull stories of one of the greatest storytellers of all time.
Following the 40th anniversary of the creation of his Discworld series, The Magic of Terry Pratchett is presented by author and comedian Marc Burrows and is based on the writer’s highly acclaimed and Locus Award-winning biography, The Magic of Terry Pratchett, which has been officially endorsed by Pratchett’s estate. Burrows is a critic who writes for the likes of The Guardian, the i Paper and The Statesman and has a background in stand-up comedy, also performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
