The organisers of Hat Fair – the UK’s longest running festival of Outdoor Arts – are looking for volunteers for this year’s event, which takes place from Friday 5 – Sunday 7 July.
The festival, which takes over the city streets and green spaces of Winchester, is visited each summer by tens of thousands of people of all ages, who come to enjoy the street theatre, music, dance, circus, comedy and more.
A festival that hosts professional acts, youth and local talent, and hundreds of schoolchildren and community groups with a colourful Carnival, requires a brilliant team of volunteers tasked with helping to set up the event, tend to the performers’ needs, provide festival-goers with much needed information and raise money to support the event.
Volunteers need to be aged 18 or over, friendly and responsible and in return they will gain valuable festival experience, meet performers and enjoy fabulous shows.
Any individuals with spare time in June and July are invited to apply via the Hat Fair website – www.hatfair.co.uk/info/volunteer, and for more information, please email volunteers@playtothecrowd.co.uk.
There are also Corporate Volunteering opportunities for local businesses to get involved with the festival – from helping to run fundraising stalls to meeting and greeting festival-goers. For more information and to express interest, please email Fundraising Manager Becca Moore at becca@playtothecrowd.co.uk.
