City centre vigil to call for ceasefire in Palestine this weekend

Palestine Solidarity Campaign Southampton and Stop the War Coalition return to the city centre on tomorrow (4 May) to call for a ceasefire and enduring peace in Palestine.

Local people will gather together to call on Israel for an immediate ceasefire and to mourn the unprecedented loss of life as a result of the ongoing Israeli bombardment of Gaza.

Since the current assault on Gaza began in October, more than 34,500 people have been killed, around a third of whom were children. In addition, around 70 percent of housing has been destroyed.

The vigil will take place from noon to 1pm below the Bargate in the city centre.
