TV talent show winner, Jon Courtenay, presents his very own style of musical comedy in his brand-new show, Bigger, at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 12 April.
In his biggest show yet and sat at his piano, Courtenay will perform new songs and stories including a quirky jazz number about British chocolate bars. Plus, tales of feuds and family.
He will perform an updated version of his one-man comedy musical that he played to critical acclaim for a limited run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022, and showcase new material as well as renditions of past performances, stitched together in a musical that will reveal the meaning behind his lyrics – the story of his secret battle with cancer, one he was fighting behind closed doors while winning fans on TV talent show, Britain’s Got Talent.
Courtenay is known for winning the show after hosts Ant and Dec hit the Golden Buzzer, guaranteeing his progression to the live semi-finals. After which, Courtenay performed on their weekend prime time show, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeover as well as The Royal Variety Performance.
But, prior to this talent show win, Courtenay had already worked for decades as an entertainer and toured the world. Courtenay has appeared on radio and is also a successful corporate and private event performer.
Jon Courtenay: Bigger will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 12 April at 7.30pm. Recommended age: 12+. For more information or to book tickets, visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
