Playmakers are offering local talent the chance to perform at this year’s Hat Fair festival – and there are two ways for them to get involved.
Playmakers are calling upon local singers, musicians, comics, choir members, dance troupes and others with a short performance to apply now to be part of Hat Fair – the UK’s longest running festival of Outdoor Arts.
This year the festival, which takes place across Winchester city centre, will run from Friday 5 – Sunday 7 July and the local artists that are chosen will perform on either Saturday 6 or Sunday 7 July.
The closing date for local talent to apply to be part of the festival is Monday 11 March at 12pm – with more information and the online application form available at playmakers.org.uk.
Playmakers are also looking for community choirs across the Winchester district to take part in the festival’s opening ceremony on Friday 5 July at 6pm. The choirs will learn an original song and perform at the festival.
The closing date for community choirs to register their interest to take part is Friday 29 March and more information and the online form are available at playmakers.org.uk.
Playmakers Engagement Producer, Hannah Jones, said: ‘We are really looking forward to collaborating with local performers and choirs for our Hat Fair 50th anniversary.
‘This is a one of a kind chance to perform and celebrate with us in style and make our 50th anniversary a year to remember and be part of its legacy!’
Playmakers is the creative learning and community engagement work of Play to the Crowd – the Winchester based charity that also runs Theatre Royal Winchester and Hat Fair.
