Preview: The Jive Aces, Theatre Royal Winchester

Vintage swing and a dash of classic rock ‘n’ roll from The Jive Aces’ high-energy live show will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 26 January.

The band who have been together for over 25 years will perform a repertoire of timeless tunes from the swing era to the glitzy days of the Rat Pack, with favourites from artists like Bobby Darin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Ella Fitzgerald, plus a selection of original tunes.

In their trademark yellow suits, The Jives Aces have been entertaining audiences around the world for three decades with swing music and their classic vintage style, singing smooth ballads and honking rhythm and blues, performing around 250 live shows a year.

The Jive Aces have played for the likes of The Queen and sold out the Royal Albert Hall; they became the first band to reach the finals of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent; and won awards for their contribution to music, plus charity work, and for their music videos! They have also worked with celebrities from Van Morrison, Status Quo, Jamie Cullum to Priscilla Presley.

Described as ‘absolutely brilliant’ by Britain’s Got Talent judge, Simon Cowell, and having ‘brilliant musicianship’ by The Stage newspaper, The Jive Aces are ready to deliver a show of high-energy vintage style entertainment that can be enjoyed by all ages.

The Jive Aces will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Friday 26 January at 7.30pm. For more information or to book tickets visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
