People from across Southampton will be gathering to take part in a vigil in the city centre to protest the Israeli onslaught on Gaza on Tuesday, October 24th.
The vigil will be held from 5.30pm outside Southampton Civic Centre and is organised by Palestine Solidarity Campaign Southampton.
The theme of the event is ‘Stop War Crimes’. It is being held in association with Stop the War Coalition.
A spokesperson for Palestine Solidarity Campaign Southampton said: “We are horrified to see the situation in Gaza. We can’t just watch while ever increasing numbers of innocent people are being massacred.”
Previous vigils held in the city over recent weeks have seen dozens of people gathering to call for peace, mourn and grieve for Palestinians and Israelis killed and call for “non-violent solutions to end the occupation and oppression of Palestinians.”
Organisers are expecting up to 100 people to attend Tuesday’s event, which will feature speakers from Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Stop the War Coalition.
