Relationships are put to the test in the comedy, Ground Rules, which comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 1 November.
Ground Rules tells of a perfect couple, Judith and Gerald – a successful businessman and an aspiring counsellor who live in a stylish suburban home and seem to have a very happy marriage.
It seems nothing can upset them until they rescue Jo from a very public argument with her boyfriend, Ashley – leading to events that no-one can control and flirting and frayed tempers lead to jealousy, confessions and misunderstandings.
Hilarious and poignant, Ground Rules is by the late English comedy writer and playwright, Eric Chappell, who created some of Britain’s top sitcoms including Rising Damp, Duty Free and Home to Roost. It is brought to the stage by The Crime and Comedy Theatre Company who tour a range of classic drama, thriller and comic productions around the UK and whose plays include adaptations of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol (coming to the theatre later this year) and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Hound of the Baskervilles. Now they proudly present Chappell’s final play – a tribute to the writer who passed away last year.
Ground Rules by Eric Chappell will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 1 November at 7.30pm. For more information or to book tickets visit: theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call 01962 840 440.
