Hat Fair – the UK’s longest running festival of Outdoor Arts – is looking for volunteers to help at this year’s event in Winchester, which runs from Friday 30 June to Saturday 1 July.
The festival, which each year takes over the city streets and green spaces of Winchester, welcomes audiences of all ages to enjoy bold street theatre, music, dance, comedy, song, circus, national and international acts, local and youth talent, plus a Carnival involving hundreds of local schoolchildren, and community groups.
A vibrant event that hosts tens of thousands of festival-goers each year requires a wealth of volunteers to keep it running like clockwork – with tasks including helping to set up areas, tending to performers’ needs, raising money to support the festival, sharing information about the shows and local facilities. and giving directions around the city.
In order to take part, all prospective volunteers need to be is aged 18 and over, friendly and responsible.
In return they’ll gain valuable festival experience and insight, meet performers from around the world and enjoy the shows, plus receive meals and refreshments.
Whether individuals are looking for a unique experience, want to meet new people, or learn new skills – volunteering for Hat Fair could be the answer.
