Historians and royalists can explore a millennium of kings and queens when Tracy Borman: How to be a Good Monarch comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Saturday 29 April.

Tracy Borman: How to be a Good Monarch is an entertaining, informative and gripping audio-visual tour of 1000 years of royal heads – from the good, the bad, the great and the mad.

Hear about the twists and turns of the British monarchy – which has survived rebellion, revolution and war – from William the Conqueror to our next monarch, King Charles III.

Borman’s tour has been timed to coincide with the coronation of King Charles III and is based on her book, Crown & Sceptre, and focuses on royal births, romances, beheadings, coronations, abdications, marriages, divorces, triumphs and disaster.

Tracy Borman is an author, historian, broadcaster, joint Chief Curator for Historic Royal Palaces – the charity that manages royal palaces and the Tower of London – and Chief Executive of the Heritage Education Trust, a charity that encourages children to visit and learn from historic properties.

She has worked for a range of historic properties and national heritage organisations including the Heritage Lottery Fund and the National Archives. Her historical biographies include Henry VIII and Thomas Cromwell, and she is a regular contributor to history magazines, notably BBC History.
