Runners across Southampton have been in training for months or more ahead of this weekend’s ABP Southampton Marathon and related events. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed for good weather for the runners and their supporters as they pound the streets of the city on Sunday.
If you’re looking for something different to do that is rather less energetic than running around the city, there are plenty of options.

On the stage The Commitments runs at The Mayflower until April 1 (click here for our review), Brendan Murphy brings all seven seasons of Buffy to stage in 70 minutes in his one-man show Buffy – Revamped (get it?) at MAST Mayflower Studios, Johannes Radebe: Freedom Unleashed (pictured) will be at The Mayflower (read more here) while Mapdance will be at Theatre Royal Winchester (click here for more details).
Amongst this week’s musical treats are Nick Tan and the Whole Family, joined by The Real Raj and Pandamonium at The Art House (read a preview here), Deaf Havana are at The 1865 (click here for a preview), The Ripple Effect will be at Turner Sims (read more here), Ear Candy at The Joiners, Mishra at God’s House Tower and Bury Tomorrow at The Brook.
The school Easter holidays begin on Saturday, bringing with them a whole host of family entertainment, including Tales from Acorn Wood at Theatre Royal Winchester (click here for a preview).
It’s Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31 and People’s Pride Southampton will be marking the occasion with a clothes swap event the following day – read all the details here.
