There are such a huge range of options available to get you out of the house on even the soggiest of January days this week.
Tomorrow (Wednesday), for instance, you could take part in a free mandala rock painting session in Shirley (click here for more information), join in a community shared meal and gender neutral clothes swap at The Art House (click here for more), or watch Saints vs Everton – the B teams, anyway (click here for more) amongst other options.
On the big stage, My Fair Lady continues at The Mayflower (read a review here). Comedian Lucy Porter comes to The Spring in Havant with her show Wake Up Call – she’ll be in Totton on the same tour in May (click here for more details) while you can enjoy a tribute to Freddie Mercury and Queen (pictured) at Theatre Royal Winchester (read more about what’s on at Theatre Royal Winchester here).
The Year of The Rabbit is almost upon us and Chinese New Year will be celebrated on Saturday in Southampton Guildhall Square, with free lion dancing, traditional Chinese games and more, as well as paid for workshops and performances at MAST Mayflower Studios, which must be booked in advance (click here for more).
Other highlights include singer-songwriter Ben Dlugokecki at La Baronia, Bear Hunt, a family concert at Central Hall, Zephyr with support from River Knight and Zen Juddhism at The Joiners and Rhys Lewis at Vinilo.
