Independent radical bookshop, October Books, in Portswood, Southampton, is holding a local shopping event tomorrow (December 3).
Held in the shop from 10.30am to 1pm, the event will offer a chance to support local businesses with your Christmas shopping.
“If you’re giving gifts this year, we’re inviting you to shop local and are making it easy for you to do so!” said an organiser.
“We’re showcasing lots of wonderful local authors and creatives here in our Community Space! With books galore, eco-themes and local interest.”
The event will feature local authors with titles exploring Southampton, including Ally Hayes, Tony Kushner, In Common heritage writer Martin Brisland and more.
Stalls will also feature handmade crafts and arts, gifts and treats, greetings cards and calendars.
The event coincides with Small Business Saturday, an annual event, now in its tenth year, to encourage people to support local businesses.
